Covid 19 Special Announcement:
Temporary Studio Closing

All Yoga classes will be suspended for the remainder of the month of March.

To Our Dear Students,

We will close the studio for the next couple of weeks to help stop the spread of the Covid-19 virus. This was not an easy decision, but we think everyone's health is paramount. We plan to re-open April 1st, but will update everyone before then.

All monthly memberships will be put on hold, and all prepaid class packs will have no expiration date. Those who have prepaid for time-bound series (Iyengar Ignite! and March Prenatal Yoga) will receive a credit for later use.

While there have been no known cases of the virus associated with our studio, we believe that a temporary closing is the pertinent thing to do. It will give us time to thoroughly clean the studio surfaces and props and think about new protocols.

We know that your yoga practice is vitally important to you. We encourage you to practice at home and offer these online suggestions: has an Iyengar Yoga teacher named Marla Apt, who has 56 video classes, of varying levels. They have a free trial month, and afterward charge only $18 per month. You can take a class of 5, 10 20, 30, 45, 60, or 90 minutes.

I-Hanuman is a website of audio-recorded yoga classes, many by Iyengar Yoga teachers. These classes are great if you've been practicing a while and are familiar with basic postures and props.

Youtube offers many free short videos by Iyengar Yoga teachers, such as John SchumacherCarrie OwerkoLois Steinberg, and Rebecca Lerner.

To our pregnant students, I urge you to consult the recommended books for prenatal yoga: Iyengar Yoga for Motherhood, by Geeta Iyengar and Rita Keller; and Yoga During Pregnancy by Geeta Iyengar and Chris Saudek. These books are available through the online shop of the Iyengar National Association of the United States (IYNAUS).

Finally, I just want to emphasize to all that if you've been coming to class on a regular basis for 3 months or more, you really can keep up your practice at home. Many of you who have been coming for years have heard the same instructions hundreds or thousands of times. Your body knows what to do. It's up to you to set aside time, space, will, and intention to make it happen. I believe in you.

Yours sincerely,

Pauline Schloesser, Director
