Why Go To Women's Essentials Yoga Class

Women's Essentials is a 75-minute, weekly class of Iyengar Yoga at Alcove Yoga studio. Women's Essentials is a great class for you if you are:

  • Menstruating. All the postures are safe to practice during the menstrual period. All postures help open and relieve the pelvis from cramping and congestion. If there is headache, backache, fatigue, anxiety or depression, appropriate postures are given for relief.

  • Postpartum: Women who have recently delivered a baby need time to recuperate. In Women's Essentials we help you move your pelvic organs to their correct positions and tone them. While many women want to "get back into shape" immediately after having a baby, we put a premium on organic and mental health. We will help you to regulate your hormones, ease tension, and rest while gradually increasing your strength, stamina, and flexibility.

  • Menopausal or perimenopausal: As women age, bones become brittle, skin sags, muscles fall away from bones and lose their tone. In addition hormonal changes may lead to hot flashes and headaches. A regular yoga practice that focuses on hormonal health with gentle inversion can have a great effect on physical and mental well-being.
