IYENGAR YOGA FOR PREGNANCY
The cornerstone of Iyengar Yoga is correct alignment with intelligent actions. One must take care to work carefully with the alignment of muscles and joints to avoid injury, fatigue, or undue strain during pregnancy.
And yet, the pregnant woman should work to become stronger, more resilient, and to feel good physically and mentally. Effort and concentration is required to learn the postures and work in them for maximum benefit.
The Prenatal Yoga program at Alcove Yoga has helped hundreds of women prepare for the labor and delivery. Please DO NOT WAIT UNTIL YOUR LAST TRIMESTER TO START PRENATAL YOGA. We will not take new students in the third trimester.
Registration is done each month for 4-weekly, 90 minute classes. When there are open spots, we may be able to take a new student mid-month. New students may apply for the program to start when they are at least 13 but no more than 21 weeks pregnant. Continuing students who are pregnant should let us know immediately so we can modify your practices.
In the Alcove Prenatal Yoga Program you'll meet other pregnant women, learn safe and effective practices for relieving your particular symptoms – including back ache, nausea, fatigue, and swelling, anxiety and depression. You'll also become stronger. Most women say they feel better immediately after class, and sleep soundly for at least a few nights.
Please note: we do not sell individual classes or give credit for classes missed. If there are multiple sections of prenatal yoga going, you may request a make-up in another section (depending on available space) if you cancel your scheduled class with no less than 48 hours notice.
$100 monthly enrollment of 4 classes.
Saturdays, 10:30 am to 12 pm
Mondays, 6:00 to 7:30 pm.
Wednesdays, 5:15 to 6:45pm
